    Research Aim: The primary aim of the study is to identify motivation factors of tourists visiting dark tourist sites linked to death and disaster. The proposed research uses the classic ‘Push and Pull’ Theory to identify possible motivation factors that may influence people to visit dark tourist sites in the UK. The research will attempt to examine the mediation role of John Urry’s Tourist Gaze in the relationship between motivation constructs and visitation of dark tourist sites. The research will be conducted empirically for data collection and analysis.
    Topic 3: Examining the Impact of Morbid Motivational Factors on Dark Tourism.
    Research Aim: The primary aim of the research is to analyse the relationship between morbid motivational factors – interest in death and morbid curiosity – and visitation to dark tourist sites. The research study proposes to examine less socially acceptable motivation factors that may be linked to dark tourism. The data will be collected using questionnaires and then analysed empirically using SEM.

The data will be collected using surveys with a multi-step data analysis that incorporates PLS-SEM and MANOVA analysis.
