Three levels of edit — pick the one that fits

Editing means different things at different stages. Choose based on how finished your draft actually is, not the label that sounds most reassuring.

LEVEL 01

Proofreading

Final polish before submission. Best when your argument and structure are already settled.

  • Spelling, punctuation and typos
  • Grammar and subject-verb agreement
  • Basic consistency (tense, spelling variant)
  • Reference-list formatting fixes
LEVEL 02

Copy editing

The default level for most Master's and PhD theses. Everything in proofreading, plus the sentence-level work most students actually need.

  • Sentence clarity and flow
  • Academic tone and voice consistency
  • Awkward phrasing and repetition
  • In-text citation matching (name, year, page)
  • Full referencing-style pass
LEVEL 03

Substantive editing

For drafts where the argument is there but the structure needs work. Requires more time and dialogue.

  • Paragraph and section reordering suggestions
  • Argument-flow comments chapter by chapter
  • Signposting, transitions and topic sentences
  • Everything in copy editing

What every edit covers

Regardless of level, these items are checked on every thesis we edit.

Spelling — UK, US or another variant, consistently applied.
Grammar — tense, agreement, articles, prepositions.
Punctuation — commas, semicolons, dashes and quotation marks.
Academic register — no contractions, no colloquialisms.
Numbers and units — consistent style for figures, units and dates.
Headings hierarchy — Chapter, Section, Sub-section numbering.
Figures and tables — captions, numbering, cross-references.
Citations — every in-text cite has a reference entry (and vice versa).
Reference list — full style pass (APA 7, Harvard, IEEE, Vancouver).
Formatting — margins, line spacing, font, page numbers, running heads.

How ordering works

Four steps from upload to a returned draft you can decide on line-by-line.

01

Send your draft

Send your Word file (.docx) with your university's formatting guide and required referencing style.

02

Level and timeline agreed

We recommend a level of edit based on the draft. Price and turnaround are confirmed before starting.

03

Editor works with track changes

A subject-aware editor works through your thesis with Word Track Changes on and comments where needed.

04

You review and accept

You receive the tracked file plus a short editor's memo. Accept, reject or ask follow-up questions — the final draft is yours.

Indicative turnaround

Times below are typical for a well-prepared draft. Exact deadlines are agreed on ordering — we won't accept a timeline that would compromise the edit.

What editing is — and what it is not

Editing improves the clarity, consistency and formatting of your own writing. Our editors don't rewrite your argument, don't fabricate data, and don't add ideas that were not in your draft. Every change is tracked so you see and choose what stays.

We don't guarantee grades or specific similarity scores, and we don't participate in impersonation. If your university requires a declaration that your thesis was professionally edited, we can provide a short editing statement on request — check your programme's policy first.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions Kuwait postgraduates most often ask before ordering editing.

Do you edit theses for Kuwait University, GUST, AUK and other Kuwait programmes?

Yes. We edit theses submitted to Kuwait University, Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST), American University of Kuwait (AUK), American University of the Middle East (AUM), Australian University Kuwait, and other Kuwait-based programmes. Send your programme's formatting guide with your order and we'll follow it exactly.

Can you edit an Arabic-English bilingual thesis?

Yes. We can edit the English portions to academic-standard English, keep Arabic quotations and terms in their correct form, and ensure the reference list handles mixed-script sources consistently. Tell us at the ordering stage that your thesis is bilingual so we can match a suitable editor.

Will you rewrite my argument or change my ideas?

No. Editing means improving the clarity, structure and consistency of your own writing, not replacing your thinking. Where a sentence is genuinely unclear, we add a comment asking what you meant rather than guessing and rewriting.

Which referencing styles do you support?

APA 7, Harvard, IEEE, Vancouver, Chicago and MLA. If your department uses a modified in-house style, send us the guide when you order and we'll apply it consistently.

What file format do I send, and how do I receive it back?

Word (.docx) is best because Track Changes works cleanly there. You receive back the same file with Track Changes on plus a short editor's memo. If your original is a PDF, we can convert it — but a Word file always gives a better editing result.

Can I get an editing certificate to submit with my thesis?

Yes — on request we can provide a short editing statement naming the level of edit performed and the date. Check your programme's policy first, as some Kuwait universities require a specific format or a declaration from you as author.

Is my draft confidential?

Your file is handled confidentially. We do not resell, republish or reuse your work, and editor access is limited to the person assigned to your project. You can request deletion once the edited file is delivered.

How do I order and pay?

Order through our order page or message us on WhatsApp to confirm level, scope and pricing first. Payment methods and turnaround are agreed before editing begins.
