In pursuit of securing acceptance and admission to graduate studies, if I were to present myself effectively in few words, this is what I would dare to say. At the present juncture of my academic profile, I am an architectural and art loving person; someone who has taken practical steps in knowing the world around him.

HOW? A simple question that has followed me as long as I can remember. There was never an end to the questions I asked myself in curiosity while growing up. Children love to explore and learn, and I was no different. As a young boy I always felt an urge to understand the world around me, as its countless enigmas, complexities and challenges always fascinated me. This, in effect, is the basis of architectural and artistic science: curiosity.

Since the early staged of my academic career, I have intrinsically felt motivated towards learning the concepts of arts and architecture. At the age of 5, I used to draw buildings, and as I grew, my thirst for knowledge of these marvelous concepts gained strength. The world of portraits and paintings also fascinated me and this led me to participate in various magazines and gallery exhibitions. My first gallery appearance was during the senior year at FA gallery; a respected local gallery in Kuwait. My second participation was for Shuwaikh in Kuwait. This year, I will be participating in the khaleejesque newspaper, for the New Year 2015 issue event, for which I will be presenting an artwork for an article in the magazine.

As years have passed by, my interests have also diversified as I realized that there is much more to this world than meets the eye. The appreciation of my artistic skills by the local community further motivated me to learn more about the diversity of human-made structures. Spurred by this interest, I have decided to delve deeper into the field of architecture and related technologies, and opt for ‘architectural and sustainable infrastructure development’ related subjects. It can provide me with basic understanding and principles surrounding architectural design / drawings, development of infrastructures and sustainable communities. Impressive facts ranging from working with mega-structures to the understanding of design / construction mechanism, have built a strong passion within me, to pursue this tremendous world of technical, artistic, and managerial literacies.

Architecture remains a major problem in my home town, Kuwait, an area where I am really passionate to contribute in. Problem-solving methodologies to construction technology, design, and management issues with respect to the building industry, deducing theories, reasoning, rationalizing, critically analyzing, evaluating, and finally contributing towards development of environmental friendly structures  is what I dream to do.

As my graduate course completion is approaching, I am in search of a graduate program that would best quench my thirst, as I look forward to obtain practical skills to succeed in my career. My quest ended the moment I heard about the Architectural Science Program at your University.

I believe that this university would not only provide me with a well-established environment but also help me with my career, and I will be trained to think / plan beyond the horizon. I want to become an innovative thinker. The university’s focus on research is very enticing to say the least, and one of the many reasons why this university is my preferred choice. With my dedication to education, I aspire to become a person who can contribute to the society.
